"Please stay in your seats and don't eat, jump or laugh!"
Boy, what a day! Today I took Ms. Bella's class to the Ice Cream Factory. I know, it sounds fun......for them! But think about the poor Moose-Giraffe who had to drive their bus! First, little Joey the Kangaroo-Calf was so excited that he couldn't help but hop all over the bus. He's a really great kid but he sure can be a klutz! So Joey accidentally kicks me while we're driving, and I totally lose control of the bus! There we are, swerving and curving down Zoo Avenue, and I'm trying my best just to stay on the road! Then what's that I see up ahead? The Fish-Lion construction crew right in the middle of the road, that's what! Our out-of-control bus just barely missed them, thanks to my expert driving skills. They don't call me the best driver in Zoo City for nothing! To top it all off, I didn't even get to go inside the Ice Cream Factory! Something about how my neck and antlers wouldn't fit through the door. So I had to wait outside in the hot bus while the children had a blast! Now, thankfully that nice Ms. Bella the Elephant-Bee was thoughtful enough to bring me out my very own ice cream cone for the ride back. But wouldn't you know it, that cone was so hard to eat with my neck sticking out the window that it blew away and landed in the road! My cool frozen treat, melting away along the side of Zoo Avenue! Next time there's a field trip, I'm calling in sick! -Mr. McGraff
